For my birthday this year, Brian got us an amazing weekend at
The Boulders in Scottsdale. He got us a package where we each could choose to do a spa treatment or play golf each day. The temps were unusually high for this time of year. Over 105 degrees everyday, but it still felt amazing. We flew down early Thursday morning, got a rental car and drove out to the resort. It is about 25 minutes from downtown Scottsdale. The setting is really unique, it is clear right away where the resort got its name. We had a quick bite to eat, got checked in to our Casita and headed to the spa for our treatments. I got an 80 minute facial that was amazing and Brian had a
Lomi Lomi massage. We took some pictures around the property.

On Friday we played golf. We had a 7am tee time and it was about 85 degrees already. I played ok for me, Brian wasn't too happy with his game. He looked cute though. We played with a father and son from New Jersey, both named John. They thought we were about 28 years old, which was awesome since we are 32 and 35. About 5 holes in we told them that I was 4 1/2 months pregnant and they thought this story just kept getting better. We are pretty sure that big John does quite well for himself, but seemed very down to earth. Little John was one of 4 kids, the rest girls, all two years apart, the oldest is 28. I know a lot about this family because I was more interested in them than trying to for a low score.

Two of the nights we had dinner at a mexican place close to the resort. The last full day, Brian golfed and I got a massage at the spa. It was such a fun and relaxing weekend. We are headed to Hawaii at the end of the Summer and that will be our last pre-baby vacation. We already planned something for next Spring, airport security might not be so easy anymore, but this little peanut is going to learn to love vacations like his parents. Thanks Brian - it was a perfect weekend.
